Located in Sapporo-Japan, this wooden residence was designed by Japanese architect Yoshichika Takagi. Called House K, the interior is divided by a series of wooden structures with pitched roofs. Pool Suites at the Hard Rock Hotel, Las Vegas

As part of Hard Rock Las Vegas’ resort-wide remodel, Las Vegas design firm Chemical Spaces was commissioned to design several one-of-a-kind pool suites intended to accommodate VIP guests of the resort. Local designer Mark Tracy, Chemical Spaces’ owner and principal design consultant, designed and oversaw installation of the individual suites.

The suites were designed with the intent to cater to Hard Rock’s young, hip, and music-oriented guests. With each suite boasting a unique theme/motif, the suites each walk out to the newly-designed Hard Rock pool and bring a new element to the Hard Rock resort.

Alila Villas Soori by SCDA Architects

SCDA Architects have completed the Alila Villas Soori, a new resort and residential villa community on the southwest coast of Bali, Indonesia, which is scheduled to open in December 2009.

This latest property by Alila Hotels & Resorts offers 48 villas ranging in size from 1,680 square feet for a one-bedroom villa, to a 49,500-square foot 10-bedroom villa.  Each villa integrates elements from the surrounding environment with a graceful expression of contemporary Asian design. Located off the tourist trail, the resort is situated on a gentle slope between lush, green rice terraces and black-sand beaches overlooking panoramic vistas of the Indian Ocean.

French designer Victor Boëda has created the Lilium sofa and chair for the Paris based furniture manufacturer Steiner. From the designer: “Lilium is a soft couch with a floral line. An assemblage of three sheets, one per function: seat, kidney-level support & back-rest.”

Culture Campus Vleuterweide Informatieplein by AEQUO

The Dutch design studio AEQUO have designed an informatieplein (information plaza) inside the Culture Campus Vleuterweide in Utrecht, The Netherlands. The Informatieplein is shaped as the interior space of a monastery. It contains one large monastery bench, which comprises a multitude of functions upon closer inspection.
